originally this album was going to follow the format of the first attention currency album, with voice recordings over songs composed on this particular nylon string guitar. however instead of clips i acquired from other sources, this time it would be from my friends, talking about day to day struggles of varying severity. as time passed it not only became clear that my friends (spare a dedicated few) did not want to record themselves complaining, and a task i thought easier than feasible was rendered inert.

this is not to say that i dont understand the trepidation. to solidify a discontentment is something horrifying and gaudy to many, including myself. something that feels too big for one person (at least to a lot of those i hold close).

it began to feel wrong to force this narrative for the sake of a concept that while good, holds no ground in the face of being inorganic.

also feels pretty trivial right now with the state of the world.

so all that being said, we were going to complain and then we didnt.
